CHIME + PAINTS have merged and partnered with Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF) to launch Piedmont Arts Fund (PAF) to comprehensively support arts programming in the schools

For as long as our kids have benefitted from visual and performing arts in Piedmont schools, there have been two supporting 510(c)3 nonprofits – PAINTS for visual arts and CHIME for performing arts. For the past 50 years, the music department at the schools have depended on the generous financial contribution of $26,100 a year from CHIME to run a robust and large k-12 music program. PAINTS has historically supported the visual arts annually in the range of $35-70,000 a year.

The reason for this merger is to streamline the way art is supported by the community. Reducing the number of separate nonprofits makes fundraising more efficient. The Piedmont Arts Fund (PAF) will be fiscally sponsored by PEF. Moving forward, funds raised by the PAF will be used to support both visual arts and performing arts.

The need for parent support is critical for the Arts. Donations through the Piedmont Store  and directly to PAF will be used for art, music and theater supplies and instruction. At the elementary level, all students receive art and music instruction every week. In middle school, students dive deeper with electives such as visual art, ceramics, film, orchestra, band, and theater. As students advance to high school, they are offered electives in 2D, 3D, and AP Art, photography, ceramics, theater, orchestra, concert band, jazz band, acappella, and dance. The financial support provided by the PEF Art Fund pays for the acappella accompanist, the Music Assistant’s salary, choral and instrumental clinicians at PHS & PMS. The breadth and depth of these offerings would be impossible to maintain without parent support. Consider donating to the Piedmont Arts Fund at the Piedmont Store and PAF today.
